In Loving Memory of Mario Roberto Benavides
July 4th, 1947 – May 19th, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we share the sudden and heartbreaking passing of our beloved Mario Benavides— a cherished father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend — Mario immigrated from El Salvador during the Civil War. Upon arriving he radicated in Los Angeles California and called it home for the later part of his life. He will be remembered for his loving spirit, his beautiful smile, and his ability to move forward in the face of adversity.
We have created this GoFundMe to help cover funeral arrangements and related expenses. Every dollar raised will go directly toward giving Mario Benavides the farewell he deserves and repatriating his body to his home country of El Salvador where he will be buried next to his parents, brothers, and son.

Con gran pesar, compartimos el repentino y doloroso fallecimiento de nuestro querido Mario Benavides, querido padre, abuelo, hermano, tío, primo y amigo. Mario emigró de El Salvador durante la Guerra Civil. Al llegar, se estableció en Los Ángeles, California, y allí vivió hasta el final de su vida. Será recordado por su espíritu afectuoso, su hermosa sonrisa y su capacidad de seguir adelante ante la adversidad.
Hemos creado esta campaña de GoFundMe para ayudar a cubrir los gastos fúnebres y otros gastos relacionados. Cada dólar recaudado se destinará directamente a brindarle a Mario Benavides la despedida que merece y a repatriar su cuerpo a su país natal, El Salvador, donde será enterrado junto a sus padres, hermanos e hijo.
